Matt McBeth's untimely passing has affected all of us very deeply. He was a 27 year veteran of Cascade High School. He was an AP teacher, a union leader, a coach, a driver's ed teacher, a national honor society adviser, a GSA adviser, and a general all around mentor to thousands of our community's young people. For the Social Studies Department he was also a very close friend. We will miss his quick wit, his great patience, and his obvious love for each of us. But above all else, he was a devoted husband to a wonderful woman and the proud father of three truly excellent children.
At his family's request we have established a memorial scholarship in his name. It will provide opportunity to kids who have demonstrated a strong commitment to academics and who may need a bit of extra financial help. This was Matt's situation as a young man, and it's likely one of the reasons why he valued education so highly.
Matt loved to teach and he loved the Cascade community. Please help us to honor his memory in the way he would have liked best; by helping kids to achieve their dreams.
