Free Breakfast & Lunch starting Jan. 3, 2024

clip art of kids eating lunchWe are excited to announce that beginning January 3rd, 2024, Cascade Jr. High and Turner Elementary students will join Aumsville Elementary, Cascade Opportunity Center and Cloverdale Elementary students in receiving free breakfast and lunch through the Federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). The Federal CEP guidelines changed recently, which allowed more Cascade schools to qualify for the program. Cascade High School still does not meet the qualifications for this program and will continue to operate on the free, reduced and full priced meal system. Any charges incurred on account before the CEP program starts on January 3rd, 2024 will still be owed.

We don't want any student to go hungry, and our nutrition team has worked many extra hours sorting through Federal and State guidelines to make this happen.

Everywhere EXCEPT the high school, students will each receive one breakfast and lunch free of charge without the need of a free/reduced application. In order to receive a free breakfast or lunch, students must take the entire meal but it is up to them on what they choose to eat. Any second meals, entree only, or ala carte purchases like milk will require either cash or funds on their Mealtime account.

Cascade menus are posted online in an interactive system that translates into multiple languages and displays dietary information including carbs and allergens: https://www.myschoolmenus.com/organizations/1213

We look forward to feeding your students in January. Have a great holiday break!
