Artist in Residence |
|
(Statesman Journal, Sheldon Traver) TURNER — At Cloverdale Elementary, kids were literally dying for their art. As part of the school's yearly art program, Mr. Tie-Dye, aka Carl McClellan, taught students in kindergarten through fifth grade about how to mix color and create wearable art with tie-dyed T-shirts. The three-day event was part of the school's Artist in Residence program held annually. Cloverdale Administrative Assistant Janie Anglen met McClellan while he was displaying his wares at a craft fair in Turner in December. "I went out there and visited him and it looked like a fun project," she said. "He showed me lots of things the kids could do. He gave us ideas for what we could do with the older kids versus the younger kids." Filed as:
